This "study" from The Center for Modeling Optimal Outcomes®, LLC is just so much silly pseudoscience.

The central hypothesis in the press release is that somehow two biological compounds, glycine and glutamate, can become imbalanced (lack homeostasis) and this somehow is causal in autism. The press release doesn't explain how the alleged "lack of homeostasis" is causal. The press release blithely alleges that glycine and glutamate “control the rate of cellular absorption”. But absorption of what? The press release does not explain. How is this alleged "lack of absorption" is causal in autism? Again, the press release does not explain.

What the press release does intimate is that the "lack of glycine and glutamate homeostasis" is caused by vaccination, specifically the minute quantities of hydrolized gelatin (containing glutamate) in some vaccines.

But when you stop and think for a moment, that's just silly, too.

Glycine and glutamate are found in most proteins. For example, a cup of chicken broth (even Campbell's chicken-broth based soups) has orders of magnitude more glycine and glutamate than a vaccine dose, yet we have seen virtually no reports of children becoming autistic after drinking even large quantities of chicken broth.

What about the difference between oral ingestion and injection? Consider a common but underrecognized source of "injected" materials -- the lowly mosquito. Each mosquito bite injects a small amount of saliva (which contains an anti-coagulant – and a small amount of glycine and glutamate).

Hmmmn. Gee, if children "suddenly became autistic" following a vaccination, and if the culprit is indeed the glycine / glutamate disruption, wouldn't you also expect autism diagnoses to be higher following the mosquito season?
