Dozens of protesters in Sao Paulo demonstrated Thursday against President Shimon Peres’ visit to Brazil and Israel’s actions in Gaza.
“War criminal, go home” the protesters shouted at Peres as he arrived in the city to give speak at a conference of local industrialists. Some of demonstrators held signs equating Peres with Hitler; others waved Lebanese and Palestinian flags.
Earlier Thursday, Peres with the world-renowned Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo, and invited him to visit Israel for a friendly soccer match between Israeli and Palestinain children. Read the full story

The defense apparatus in the United Arab Emirates arrested 45 suspects, most of them Palestinian and Lebanese, after the plot to blow up Burj Dubai (Dubai Tower) was uncovered. Dubai Tower, currently under construction, is the tallest building in the world.
The current wave of arrests adds to the eight other suspects detained immediately after the plot was revealed one and a half months ago. The detainees were apparently sent as agents of Iran. Read the full story

Beirut – Tension mounted Monday in southern Lebanon after an Israeli forces reportedly advanced to the area of the Shebaa farms, forcing the Lebanese army on alert, a Lebanese army source said. The source said three armoured Israeli vehicles, accompanied by a civilian car, advanced towards Shebaa Farms, located at the junction of south-east Lebanon, south-west Syria and northern Israel.
Israel seized the 25-square-kilometre swath of land rich in water resources from Syria in the 1967 Middle East war when it captured the neighbouring Golan Heights, which it later annexed. Read the full story

FOUR people have been arrested in anti-terror raids across Melbourne that have foiled an alleged suicide attack on a Sydney army base.
About 400 police descended on homes in Melbourne and in Colac, arresting four men of Somali and Lebanese descent. Read the full story
