Malware authors are impersonating the CDC in a new scheme to propagate a trojan horse. Fraudulent e-mails sent by a botnet claim that the recipient must register for a fake state vaccination program but really link to a malware-infested phishing website.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) issued a statement this week to warn citizens about a recent wave of phishing e-mails that deceptively claim to be from the government organization. I know everybody’s looking for “Foxy Brown Superhead” today. Don’t lie to me. See, malware villains know when you’re perving after stuff like “Foxy Brown Superhead sex tapes”, and they spring into action, luring you into their evil traps. First of all, the top-ranking links to “Foxy Brown Superhead” point to malware sites. With this search term, only visit sites you trust. Second of all, Foxy Brown and Superhead are two different people. Foxy Brown is Inga Fung Marchand, a rap artist  who just got out of prison last year (as well as a 1974 Pam Grier action flick). Superhead is Karrine Steffans, who appears in lots of rap videos and who used to date Bill Maher. Don’t ask how she got the nickname Superhead if you don’t already know. Dang.

So there you have it. Foxy Brown: out of Rikers Island after doing time for assault. Superhead: video vixen who’s been around the block a few times. Malicious websites: malicious and nasty and out to pwn your PC. Be pop culture smart, and be malware aware.
